
INTERNAL REGULATIONS OF THE NAZARÉ THALASSOTHERAPY CENTRE
MISSION
Thalasso – Nazaré, Portugal – Nazaré Thalassotherapy Centre aims to provide a welcoming and serene atmosphere where clients can experience an improvement in their physical and mental well-being through the available services and treatments, using seawater and marine elements to promote health and well-being, both from a preventive and therapeutic perspective.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
The Nazaré Thalassotherapy Centre is registered as a healthcare provider with the Portuguese Health Regulatory Authority (ERS), under registration number E121224.
CLINICAL TEAM AND STAFF
Clinical management is provided by Dr Pedro Cantista, a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In his absence, he is replaced by Dr Francisco Teixeira, a specialist in General and Family Medicine with expertise in Medical Hydrology and Climatology.
Specialised Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation treatments are provided by physiotherapist Margarida Ribeiro, who holds a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy for Musculoskeletal Conditions.
OPENING DAYS AND HOURS
The Nazaré Thalassotherapy Centre is open all year round, except on 25 December.
The Thalassotherapy Centre is open every day from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm, except on Sundays, when it is open from 10:00 am to 9:30 pm.
Opening hours may vary depending on the time of year (high and low season), with any changes duly communicated to the public.
BOOKINGS AND ADMISSION
To enable the Nazaré Thalassotherapy Centre to provide you with the best possible service, your treatment should be booked in advance. You can make your booking by telephone, email or directly at the Thalassotherapy Centre reception.
On the day of your appointment, you will be asked to complete a personal registration form containing the following information:
• Identification details (name, date of birth, address, nationality, telephone number and email);
• Other relevant information, particularly whether you have any medical condition or require special attention.
All personal data will be treated in strict confidence and in full compliance with applicable legislation.
The admission of clients with medical conditions that may present a risk is subject to the assessment of the Clinical Director or another member of the clinical team.
ARRIVAL
We recommend arriving at the Thalassotherapy Centre fifteen minutes before your scheduled appointment. Arriving late may result in a reduction in the duration of your treatment.
Male clients who have booked a facial treatment are advised to shave beforehand.
Female clients who have recently given birth or are breastfeeding should also provide this information in advance.
Once inside the facilities, showering is mandatory before using the Thalasso Circuit.
ETIQUETTE
To ensure a calm and serene environment at the Nazaré Thalassotherapy Centre, clients are required to observe certain rules of courtesy.
The following are prohibited:
• Smoking on the premises;
• Using mobile phones or other electronic devices, including cameras, video cameras, computers and/or tablets;
• Consuming alcoholic beverages, soft drinks or food purchased outside the premises;
Please help preserve a harmonious atmosphere by speaking quietly and behaving calmly.
MINIMUM AGE
We value family time. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the pool.
The minimum age for treatments is 16.
Young people aged between 12 and 15 may access the other areas of the Thalassotherapy Centre for treatments with medical consent and provided they are accompanied by a legally responsible adult.
PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
At Thalasso, bookings for therapeutic or wellness services (including balneotherapy services and the Thalasso Circuit) cannot be accepted for pregnant women, with the exception of foot and leg treatments and lymphatic drainage, or where expressly recommended by a doctor.
If you are pregnant and fail to disclose this information, Thalasso cannot be held responsible for any side effects or contraindications that may arise.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED
The treatments and services provided by the Centre are listed in its services and price list, which is available at reception and can also be consulted on the website.
Prices and/or the range of treatments are subject to change without prior notice and depend on the availability of the facilities.
GENERAL OPERATING RULES
Clients may use all services listed in the services and price list, provided there are no medical contraindications and subject to advance payment.
Clients are protected by the professional confidentiality obligations of the Thalassotherapy Centre team and must be treated with respect, courtesy and professionalism.
Clients must familiarise themselves with the admission and etiquette rules and comply with them at all times.
During their stay at the Thalassotherapy Centre, clients are entitled to a locker for personal use and will retain the corresponding key. The loss or misplacement of any personal belongings on the premises is entirely the clients responsibility.
Clients undertaking treatment programmes are provided with a bathrobe, towel and slippers, as well as shampoo for showering.
Clients using the Thalasso Circuit are provided with a bathrobe and towel and must bring their own swimsuit, swimming cap and pool footwear (which must not be worn outdoors). If they do not have a swimming cap and/or suitable pool footwear that meets the establishments minimum hygiene and safety requirements, these must be purchased at reception.
Clients using the body treatment area will also be provided with disposable underwear.
When leaving, clients must place the items provided to them in the designated container. Failure to return these items will result in a charge of fifty euros.
The management of the Thalassotherapy Centre reserves the right to refuse admission when the facilities have reached their maximum operating capacity.
The use of any machine or equipment requires prior consultation with the professional responsible for the relevant area. Clients must use all equipment correctly and responsibly.
To preserve the relaxing and serene nature of the environment, the use of inflatables, diving masks and goggles in the pool area is expressly prohibited. Swimming, running, jumping and diving in the dynamic pool are also prohibited.
Adults are responsible for ensuring that children accompanying them understand and respect the applicable rules.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur. Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the treatment are free of charge. Cancellations made between 24 and 12 hours before the appointment will incur a charge of 50% of the treatment price. Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the appointment will be charged in full. Failure to attend will likewise result in the full amount being charged.
For treatments included in packages, cancellations made more than 12 hours in advance may be rescheduled to another date. Cancellations made less than 12 hours in advance, or failure to attend, do not entitle the client to reschedule or receive a refund.
FINAL PROVISIONS
Any omissions or questions regarding the interpretation of these regulations will be resolved by the management of the Thalassotherapy Centre.
